Excellence in Soil Science

Description: This award recognizes undergraduate students who have demonstrated excellence in their work as students of soil science. The number of awards given annually is variable and controlled by the FAESS Executive Council.

 

Award: $500 stipend

 

Requirements:

  • UF GPA 3.5 or greater | Upper Division GPA 3.75 or greater (minimum of 15 SWS credits)1
  • Two letters of recommendation (one letter from undergraduate coordinator and one from UF SWSD faculty)
  • Member of FAESS for 12 months prior to application
  • Previous attendance at two FAESS meetings prior to application2

1GPA: Grade point average as reported via UF transcript.

2Membership and Attendance: Meetings are defined as the Annual Business Meeting (October/November) or Annual Hydric Soil Workshop (April). Membership status and meeting attendance is documented by the FAESS Secretary/Treasurer.
