Agenda
On behalf of FAESS, I would like to invite you to our upcoming 2015 Annual Business Meeting and social event on November 12th and 13th in Monticello, FL. We will post the final agenda soon. The 2-day event will include field activities, a catered social on Thursday night, business meeting Friday morning, catered lunch afterwards, and several other options.
The early bird special ticket price is $30 and helps offset the costs of FAESS hosting the event, the venue fees for the event, and the catered meals. The ticket price will increase to $50 closer to the event date. The venue for our meeting is Willow Pond. This small plantation affords several options for field activities and a wonderful setting for our Thursday night catered social. Primitive camping will be available at Willow Pond, as well as five (5) RV full service sites. I am coordinating other lodging options such as nearby Bed and Breakfast establishments.
The City of Monticello and the surrounding Jefferson County are historical, welcoming, and quaint. Monticello is approximately 28 miles northeast of Tallahassee. http://www.visitjeffersoncountyflorida.com/
October 24-25 – Ocala Hilton
This is an election year. Chad Rischar will succeed Joe Sullivan as President. Sullivan will succeed Rex Ellis as Past-President. Ellis’ term on the Executive Council will end. We will vote on filling the office of Secretary-Treasurer (2-year term), Vice-President (2-year term), and President (6-year term). Note: the elected president will serve two years as President-Elect, two years as President, and two years as Past-President.
The nominations committee has closed the request for nominations to be added to the 2014 Officer Ballots. The ballots have been printed and delivered to the Secretary-Treasurer. If you would like to run but missed this window, we welcome you to be nominated from the floor. To do so, you must be eligible to hold office (requirements outined in Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution and Bylaws). Contact the Secretary-Treasurer if you have questions about your eligibility. If you plan to nominate a member from the floor, please confirm with that person that 1) he/she wants to run and 2) he/she is eligible.
